Questions & Answers

What Clients
Actually Ask

Before anyone signs on with East 2 West Collective, they want to know how the process works, what it costs, and what results actually look like. Here is what we tell every prospective client, straight, no spin.

How do I choose the right PR firm? +

Look at the work and client list on the firm's site and see if any of it resembles what you need. Then arrange a call with the owner or a senior person at the firm directly, that conversation tells you fast whether it is the right fit.

What is included in a PR package? +

Our retainer covers pitching across broadcast, digital and print media, all under one monthly fee. Before we start, we walk you through the specific strategic outlets we intend to target, so there is no guessing about where your story is headed.

What placement can I expect? +

Expect at least a few hits after the first month. We will not pretend to know the number in advance. Media response varies pitch to pitch, and we never quite know how an outlet will react until it is in front of them.

How long does it take to get media placement? +

Plan on four to six weeks for the first hits. Reaching the right editor or producer, and getting a real response, takes time. There is no shortcut around it.

What is the PR process like? +

We start by interviewing you, and anyone else involved in the campaign, and build a blueprint of media outlets from there. Next comes the writing: query letters, biographies, photo shoot coordination, whatever the campaign calls for. Then we pitch. First hits typically land in four to six weeks.

Can you get authors on talk shows? +

Often, yes, depending on the author and the story. We placed self-help author Tim Storey on the Today Show, Access Daily and Hallmark Home & Family. The Zen Mama Guide authors, Teresa Palmer and Sarah Wright Olsen, landed on the Kelly Clarkson Show and Good Morning America's third hour.

Can you help bloggers? +

Most definitely. Bloggers with a real, engaged following can benefit from the same media relationships and pitching we build for our on-camera and published clients, we shape the strategy around whichever platform carries your audience.

What should I ask my PR company? +

Ask to see work with clients in your world. Ask who specifically will be pitching your story day to day. Ask how they will keep you posted on what is landing and what is not. A firm that welcomes those questions is one worth hiring.

Is hiring a PR firm worth it? +

If credibility and visibility matter to your business, yes. A well-placed feature does more for your authority than months of self-promotion, and it opens doors that are hard to open on your own.

How much does it cost to hire a PR firm? +

We work on a monthly retainer, scaled to the scope of the campaign. We lay out exactly what that looks like for your goals on an introductory call. There is no generic rate card, because every campaign is built differently.

What should a PR firm do for you? +

Build you a real media strategy, write the materials that support it, get you in front of the right outlets, and stay honest with you about what is working. That is the job, and it is the job we do for every client on our roster.
